Designed for a prominent film studio north of Johannesburg, the headquarters explored component-based construction on a larger and more sophisticated scale.
The brief called for private studios overlooking a mature garden, together with generous communal spaces where staff could meet, relax and dine.
A long, north-facing building was carefully positioned among the existing trees. A spacious double-volume corridor forms the heart of the building, linking studios, offices and shared spaces while encouraging collaboration and interaction.
The steel portal-frame structure, with brick infill and natural-finish corrugated-iron cladding, expresses the structural system while creating a robust contemporary workplace.
