Why work with me

Three reasons clients trust the whole build to one architect.

01

One point of accountability

As Principal Agent under the JBCC contract, I run the project end to end, so responsibility for cost, quality and compliance never falls between consultants.

02

Sustainability by design

Passive-first design, sound construction techniques and the right technology reduce your carbon footprint, and your monthly running costs, for the life of the building.

03

Three decades of judgement

Thirty years across climates, regions and building types means fewer surprises on site and calm, practical resolution when complexity arises.

What I do

Comprehensive, bespoke architectural services.

From first sketch to final inspection, for residential clients, developers and organisations across South Africa.

01

Architecture

Full architectural services from concept design through to detailed documentation for council approval, tendering and construction, with JBCC administration throughout.

02

Project Management

Tender management, contractor appointments, on-site oversight, technical problem-solving and quality control through to final inspection.

03

Technical Consulting

Diagnosis and resolution of construction and design failures, leaks, damp and defective detailing, with documentation and oversight of remedial work.

04

Sustainable Solutions

Advice on sustainable techniques and coordination with service consultants to optimise electrical, mechanical and water systems for lower lifetime cost.

About Brian

Creativity and science, held in the same hand.

I have always seen buildings as more than structures, they are a concrete legacy for the generations that succeed us. Across thirty years I have applied that mindset to a broad range of buildings, in varying climates and regions across South Africa.

Today I specialise in sustainable architecture: construction techniques and appropriate technology that bring my clients’ visions to life in harmony with the surrounding environment.

Let’s begin

Tell me about the home you want to build.

Whether it is a new residence, a major alteration or a technical problem that needs solving, the first conversation is the best place to start.
